The Topic of Purgatory…what is it?

Recently I addressed the need for purification and began by looking at purification from the perspective of Purgatory.  Below are the conclusions drawn based on what the Church teaches about the state of Purgatory – and it IS a state, NOT a place, as so many misconceive.  I’ve used sources from the Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2nd Edition; the Holy Bible, Catholic RSV; and Sacred Tradition, which is all part ‘n parcel with Sacred Scripture i.e. the Holy Bible.

The study provided a spring board for following Posts that look into our need for Purification RIGHT HERE and RIGHT NOW as we try to live out our service on earth.  I hope both readings provide my readers with ample food for thought as well as a clearer understanding on the subject of Purification.
