Do Not Be Afraid…

Posted by Anne Elizabeth on July 27, 2011

Suffering produces endurance, and endurance character, and character HOPE... Romans_5:3-4

Or as Blessed John Paul the Great used to say: “Do not let your hearts be troubled, or afraid.”

Just recently I read a very powerful reminder from my fellow blogger, and his words not only hit home but were well timed.

Many of us who are in service to our Lord through our Lady have experienced our own personal purifications in preparation for the days directly ahead. I, myself, am on the last days of 40 days in the Spiritual Desert (more on this later); and just as my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, experienced in His final days in the desert, I too am faced with the fear and temptation that only comes from the one whom love does not exist in…that is Satan.

But Thou, O Lord, [are] MERCIFUL and GRACIOUS, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast LOVE and FAITHFULNESS. ~Ps 86:15

So when His children are faced with great temptation to doubt and despair over things they cannot control, He sends His messengers to bring comfort and remind us how much we ARE LOVED by Him.

Thus I pass on to you the message that reminded me of God’s Love and Providence even when all around us makes no sense.  God IS STILL WITH US in the Holy Eucharist, in the Sacraments of His Holy Church; and no matter what folly man may commit,…

What no eye has seen, nor ear has heard, nor the heart of man conceived, what God has prepared for those who love Him. ~1 Cor 2:9

Here is an excerpt from Mark’s recent writing. I highly recommend reading further and looking into his newest tab, Paralyzed By Fear. There are some wonderful readings in that to help us remember that we have NOTHING to FEAR but fear itself.  Fear is NOT of God…

EXCERPT…

LAST week, the Holy Father sent 29 newly ordained priests into the world asking them to “proclaim and witness to joy.” Yes! We must all continue to witness to others the joy of knowing Jesus.

But many Christians do not even feel joy, let alone witness to it. In fact, many are full of stress, anxiety, fear, and a sense of abandonment as the pace of life quickens, the cost of living increases, and they watch the news headlines unfold around them. “How,” some ask, “can I be joyful?”
