Posted by Anne Elizabeth on July 15, 2012

John 8: 31-32; Ps 85: 11-14

The TRUTH will always set us FREE!

Evening Prayer: Sunday, Week III: READING: Hebrews 13: 20-21 (emphasis added)

May the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep by the blood of the eternal covenant, Jesus our Lord, furnish you with all that is GOOD, that YOU MAY DO HIS WILL.

Through Jesus Christ may He carry out in you all that is pleasing to HIM.  To Christ be GLORY FOREVER!  Amen.

The Word of the Lord… Thanks be to God!

10 “sad” FACTS to set the record straight…
(be sure to click on their sources)

Fact #1:

Melinda Gates’ favorite form of birth control is Depo Provera. But hormonal contraceptives, particularly injectable methods like Depo Provera, have been shown to increase the transmission rate of HIV/AIDS.

Fact #2:

At the UN’s 1994 International Conference on Population and Development in Cairo, Western elites’ language of population control was officially changed to the language of “equality,” “sustainability” and “reproductive health.” The population control tactics, however, did not change.

Fact #3:

Melinda Gates’ partners, Marie Stopes International and International Planned Parenthood Foundation, were founded by leaders in the early eugenics and population control movements, and who were very open about the fact that they did not like the idea of poor people of color having children.

Fact #4:

Several types of hormonal contraceptives have been labeled Group-1 Carcinogens – the same category as cigarettes and asbestos – by the World Health Organization.

Fact #5:

There are documented health problems caused by the pill and other hormonal contraceptives.

Fact #6:

Many nations continue to use coercive means to stop women from having children, most notoriously in China, India and Uzbekistan.

(Special Note: All SOCIALIST Countries… what the US is rapidly becoming… so don’t think it can’t happen here!)

Fact #7:

The British government, co-sponsor of Melinda Gates’ birth control project, was recently found to be funding a forced sterilization campaign in India.

Fact #8:

Hormonal contraceptives are associated with a significantly increased risk of breast cancer. In a 2012 study published in the Journal of Cancer Research, researchers from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center looked specifically at DMPA (Depo Provera) and found that it doubled the risk of breast cancer.

Fact #9:

Melinda Gates claims she is against abortion, but her partner, Planned Parenthood, has publicly set a goal of increasing abortion services in Africa by 82% by 2015.

Fact #10:

The US Food and Drug Administration is responding to the growing body of scientific research that shows serious risks of deep vein blood clots associated with hormonal contraceptive use.

Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time: Week III: (Alternative) CLOSING PRAYER: (emphasis added)

Father, let the light of Your TRUTH guide us to Your kingdom through a world filled with lights contrary to Your own.  Christian is the name and the gospel we glory in.

Preparation for the Annunciation Part I

Posted by Anne Elizabeth on December 16, 2008

Greetings!: This is a continuation of an Advent reflection as seen from the eyes of the Mother of the Redeemer, the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Please refer to the first post in this series: INTRODUCTION if you are a first time reader.

———————————————————————————

Chapter 7: Preparation for the Annunciation

Mary and Joseph arrived at the modest house which inherited in Nazareth, they were joyfully welcomed friends and relatives… [When] they were left alone in their new home…Joseph said:

“My dear spouse, though I judge myself unworthy even of your company, I give thanks to the Lord for having chosen me as your husband. Please help me to make a proper return in serving Him with upright heart. Therefore consider me your servant, and by the true love which I have for you, I beg you to put up with my deficiencies… just tell me what you want, so that I may do it.”

Because this all-important interview was the first time that Mary had ever spoken alone to a man, and because with her natural shyness she also felt respect and reverence for her husband,…she spoke with a serene earnestness:

“My lord and spouse, our Creator has manifested His mercy to us in choosing us to serve Him together. I consider myself more indebted to Him than all other creatures, for while meriting less, I have received from His hand more than they…[therefore] I consecrated myself to God by a solemn vow of perpetual chastity in body and soul. I am His, and I acknowledge Him as my Spouse and Lord, with the firm resolve of preserving my chastity for Him. So I beseech you, my master, to help me in fulfilling this vow, while in all other things I will be your servant, working willingly for your well-being all my life…”

St. Joseph was overjoyed, and with true supernatural love he replied:

“My heart rejoices in hearing your welcome feelings in this matter. I have not told you my thoughts before knowing your own. But I also consider myself under greater obligation to the Lord than other men,…[for] at the age of twelve, I also made a promise to serve Him in perpetual chastity. So now I gladly ratify this vow, and in the presence of God, I promise to help you as far as I can in serving Him and loving Him according to your desire. With His grace I will be your servant and companion, and I beg you to accept my love and to consider me your brother.”

Marriage is… the wise institution of the Creator to realize in mankind His design of love… For baptized persons, moreover, marriage invests the dignity of a sacramental sign of grace, inasmuch as it represents the union of Christ and of the Church, (cf. Eph 5:25-33).

CCC§1639: The consent by which the spouses mutually give and receive one another is sealed by God Himself. (1Cor 7:16) From their covenant arises “an institution, confirmed by the divine law, . . .even in the eyes of society.”  The covenant between the spouses is integrated into God’s covenant with man: “Authentic married love is caught up into divine love.” (cf. Mark 10:9)

Eph 5:25-33

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present the church to Himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.

Even so husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no man ever hates his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, as Christ does the church, because we are members of His body.

“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This mystery is a profound one, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church; however, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
