Physical Infirmities: Kenosis Part II

Isaiah 53:1-6

He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.

Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that made us whole, and with His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to His own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Mark 1:40-42

And a leper came to Him beseeching Him, and kneeling said to Him, “If you will, you can make me clean.” Moved with pity, He stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I will; be clean.” And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean.

Mt 9:36 (NAB)

At the sight of the crowds, His heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd.

Moved with pity, Jesus touched their eyes.  Immediately they received their sight, and followed Him.

Mt 14:14

When He disembarked and saw the vast crowd, His heart was moved with pity for them, and He cured their sick.
