My Spiritual Insights and Musings

Morning Prayer with Invitory Psalm…

OPENING WITH THE INVITATORY PSALM:

(making a small cross on your lips) Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will proclaim Your praise!

(making a small cross on your ear) Incline You ear to my aid, O Lord…

(making a small cross on your heart) O Lord, make haste to help me.

(bowing your head) Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

(raise it up again) As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. Amen!

(go to Psalm 95, YELLOW RIBBON, keeping your GREEN RIBBON in place for easy access back to the Invitatory Antiphon) Come, let us sing to the Lord and shout with joy to the rock who saves us.  Let us approach Him with praise and thanksgiving and sing joyful songs to the Lord.

(repeat your Invitatory: Tutorial: pg 824)

(return to Psalm 95, pg 688, repeating the pattern as above)

(when you finish the last verse of Psalm 95, repeat the Invitatory, then bow your head and say) Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit…

(repeat the Invitatory ONE LAST TIME) Come into the Lord’s presence singing for joy.

(because the Invitatory was prayed, you go right into the first Antiphon for the first Psalm of Morning Prayer without repeating the Sign of the Cross – “God come to my assistance…”)
