Living in the Two Hearts

My Spiritual Insights and Musings

And Sheen continues…

God Love You!

It is about time we abandoned the idea that man becomes better because he lives in time.

Time often makes things worse as well as better. Time makes “good apples” into “bad apples”, and young people into old people…

Moral progress is NOT automatic; if we do not go up by an effort of [the] WILL, we WILL GO DOWN.

There are no plains in the spiritual life; we are either going up hill or are coming down. We are not the same spiritually this year as we were the last; we are either better or worse.

If we think we are the same, we are worse because we ought to be better;

“I am showing you the way by which you need to go… Apostles of my love, the world is in much need of your arms raised towards Heaven… Much humility and purity of heart are needed. Have TRUST in my Son and know that you can always be better.” Message to Mirjana, June 2, 2017, in part, emphasis added.

time has created an obligation.

“…I am calling you to prayer. Pray for those who do not know Jesus; for those who do not know the Love of God; pray against sin; pray for those who are consecrated; pray for the Church…My children, BE READY. THIS TIME IS A TURNING POINT. That is why I am calling you anew to FAITH and HOPE.” Ibid; emphasis added.

There are no shortcuts to spirituality; pain and purification go hand in hand, for sin cannot be easily discarded. Love feeds on crosses and sacrifices.

“In a special way I am imploring you to pray for priests and for all the consecrated, that they may love Jesus still more fervently, that the Holy Spirit may fill their hearts with JOY; that they may witness Heaven and Heavenly mysteries. Many souls are in sin, because there are not those who sacrifice themselves and pray for their conversion.” Message to Marjia, Sept 25, 2017, in part, emphasis added.

When one gets down to rock bottom, one soon discovers that the reason why most of us do not come to God is NOT because we are ignorant, but because we are bad or self-centered.

This absence of humility and sacrificial love stands like a wall between the soul and God…

…and when it hears the Divine Command to renounce itself, it pleads to the Lord as did the man who bought a farm, “Have me excused, O Lord.”

It costs something to come to God, as it costs God something to come to us. Some complain; when a trial comes, they rebel; when temptation assaults, they surrender. Indeed, the service of Our Lord is a yoke, as He said, but a yoke that is sweet and the burden light:

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light. ~Mt 11:30.

We have the purchase price of inner JOY in our hands, in the agony and misery and boredom and [weariness] of our hearts.

But like the child before a store window with a penny in his hand and the delirious vision of the candy within, he misses the delirium of the sweets because he refuses to give up the coin.

We cannot have both the coin and the candy, our self-will and peace of the soul, our sinful pleasures and the JOY of UNION with God.

[Are you ready for a radical approach to evangelizing?]

It is our studied belief that many weary souls in the world today would come to God, if we presented the faith to them, the hard way instead of the easy way, that is by an appeal to self-sacrifice.

There is a greater readiness for sacrifice on the part of modern mind, that even the members of Christ’s Mystical Body perceive. Perhaps, some of us shrink from that appeal, not because we fear they would not understand it, but because we are not sufficiently mortified ourselves.

We would be surprised at their favorable reaction, if we showed them the pressed Hands and Feet of Christ and asked: “How did They get that way?”

Yea…a company of evildoers encircle me; they have pierced my hands and my feet – I can count all my bones – they stare and gloat over me; they divide my garments among them, and for my raiment they cast lots. ~Ps 22:16-18
