Receive the Gift of Wisdom…

For the next 7 days I will address the 7 Gifts of the Holy Spirit… So desperately needed!!!

What are the 7 Gifts of the Holy Spirit?  The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches us that:

The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit…belong in their fullness to Christ, Son of David (cf. Is 11: 1-2). They complete and perfect the virtues of those who receive them. They make the faithful docile in readily obeying divine inspirations. ~CCC§1831, emphasis added.

They “make the faithful docile… obeying divine inspirations”… Isn’t that what we need, total obedience to the Will of God?  How else can we change our hearts?  Once we change our hearts, begin to change our world…

Let Your good Spirit lead me on a level path ~Ps 143:10

For all who are lead by the Spirit of God, are sons of God… you have received the Spirit of sonship… it is the Spirit Himself bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided that we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him. ~Rom 8: 14, 15, 16-17

The prophet Isaiah names the Seven Gifts as…

Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, Fear of the Lord. ~Is 11:2

7 GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: FIRST GIFT – WISDOM

From the Encyclopedia Dictionary of the Bible Welcome to the Catholic Church CD-ROM

(1) Wisdom = the desire for the things of God, and to direct our whole life and all our actions to His honor and glory

I did some extensive research on the subject of Wisdom and what the Church and Sacred Scripture has to say about this particular gift that – appropriately so – is the FIRST gift of the Seven Gifts…

The writers of, “Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, The Song of Songs, Wisdom, and Sirach. The writers of the Sapiential Books consider wisdom in its relation to man as the perfection of knowledge showing itself in action.emphasis added…

Do you know about the number seven in Sacred Scripture?  For instance, we have 7 days of Creation (Gen 1 & 2) in which God pronounced it “GOOD” and with the creation of man “VERY GOOD”. The Passover is celebrated in 7 Days (Numb 28:16) – which we already discussed was a prefigurment of the Holy Eucharist when God Himself provided His Only Son for the “spotless Lamb”.

The number 7 is used as an example of completion and perfection!

Even in the book of Revelation, the last judgments on mankind are perfect in order of seven (Rev 21:9).   Each one of these entries speaks of a perfection, a completeness in the plan of God ordained before time began.  A reminder that God is in the middle of everything and nothing happens without His “say so”.

“According to these wise men, wisdom is had only by righteous men and is bestowed by God on those who earnestly seek it,” (Wis. 1:4-5; 7:15; 8:3-4, 21). emphasis added

BECAUSE…

“Through the power of wisdom man overcomes evil, and through its possession one may secure for himself the promises of both the present and the future life.” emphasis added

THEREFORE…

Wisdom is to be prized above all things, and whoever despises it is doomed to  unhappiness,” (Wis. 3:11; 7:8-12, 30; 8:5-9). emphasis added

And just as there are fruits – that is efficacious results – that appear as a result of one  receiving the 7 Gifts of the Holy Spirit, the receiving of Wisdom also carries it’s own set of fruits…

“The fruits of wisdom are so many and far-reaching that their effects are shown in the soul as well as in the body of man. The possession of wisdom results in a good spiritual life.

Wisdom brings happiness, spiritual life, and God’s blessings to those who keep its ways; its attainment secures rest, gladness and joy (Wis. 8:16).

The prosperity of the sinner should not disturb the wise man, who should continue to practice his religion, because there is a future life and he will not be deceived in his hope of a future reward (Prov. 8:32-36; 23:17; 24:13). Wisdom gives man a more perfect knowledge of God.” (emphasis added)

FOR

“God, who is the only source of wisdom, will protect the wise man from sin and will give him the blessing of the kingdom of God” (Prov. 2:5-22)

Now one might think, “WOW!  That’s a lot…” and think there is no more.  But God’s giving is NEVER outdone in His giving!!!

“Ask and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened… If you… who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much MORE will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him?”
~Mt 7: 7-8, 11

And so God also bestows…

“Among the temporal blessings given to the wise are good health, strength, and long life (Prov. 3:7; 4:10-13; 9:10; 10:27; 24:5; Eccles. 7:20). A general summary of the effects of wisdom is found in the Book of Sirach” (4:12-22; 15:1-6). emphasis added

So who wouldn’t want this first gift of the Holy Spirit?  I, personally, have asked for this gift by name during a 2 month seminar that I’m attending.  For the last two weeks I had specifically prepared with prayer and fasting to receive His gifts during a special prayer time within this seminar that called down the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Though I am far from fully putting into practice the gifts I receive, but I can attest that the above information applies most readily in the changes I’ve noticed in my own life in recent days.  I HIGHLY recommend asking for the gift of Wisdom this Pentecost… it WILL CHANGE your life!

HEADS UP…

Just as I did last year, I’ll be posting a nine day novena just prior to Pentecost, so that you can do as I did.  Pray and fast before the coming of the Holy Spirit and make yourself ready to receive His splendor.

Are we in the final Days of Mercy?…

Posted by Anne Elizabeth on April 27, 2017

Mt. 24: 42

Published in 2011

Republished Divine Mercy Week, 2017

Now, anyone who has followed this blog, especially recently, knows that I DO NOT consider myself any kind of a prophet…I just “have eyes” that see the times we are in.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, my heart is shouting, even at this very moment, REPENT!!!  For the days of MERCY are coming to an end

Of course they are…there is only 5 days after Divine Mercy Sunday where the plenary indulgence still has effect, according to the rubrics…

No, brothers and Sisters, the TIME OF MERCY will soon pass so the call to repentance is deafening!  The DAYS of LAWLESSNESS are upon us and the chastisement for our sinfulness follows on its heels.

“Dear Children! Today I am calling you to profoundly live your faith and to implore the Most High to strengthen it, so that winds and storms cannot break it. May the roots of you FAITH be PRAYER and HOPE in ETERNAL LIFE. Already now, little children, work on yourselves [read: Phil 2:12-13] in this time of grace – through reunication and the call to conversion – to be people of clear and persevering FAITH and HOPE. Thank you for having responded to my call. ~February 25, 2017, Medjugorje, Our Lady to Ivanka (emphasis added)

Consider the words of our Savior to St. Faustina…

Jesus said to St. Faustina, “Write this: before I come as the Just Judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy…”   ~Diary§83

REMINDER: “A day is but 1,000 years in the court of the Lord”, so what “shortly before the last day” means is not something we can speculate at.  Jesus warned His disciples strongly with regards to this very topic as He ALSO WARNS US:

He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has fixed by His own authority…” ~Acts 1:7

…As soon as it puts forth leaves on its branches…summer is near…

Though we can most certainly SEE the Signs of the Times, we are not to predict exactly when or how God’s Kingdom will be established on this wayward earth. So what CAN we DO? We should draw on His WORD and pay heed to those WORDs that Jesus speaks to us.

From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near.” ~Mk 13:8

And again,

For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them;  but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. As the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they did not know until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of man. ~Mt 24: 37-49

those who were ready went in to the marriage feast…the door was shut.

But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ Then all those maidens rose and trimmed their lamps.

And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise replied, ‘Perhaps there will not be enough for us and for you; go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’

And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast; and the door was shut. ~Mt 25: 2-10

As was commented in another Post Jesus went to His chosen friends to WAKE THEM UP – so too is He doing with us!  WAKE UP!  The hour is upon you!  REPENT of your wayward life and call out for HIS MERCY BEFORE  it is too late!

The coming of the lawless one by the activity of Satan will be with all power and with pretended signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are to perish, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends upon them a strong delusion, to make them believe what is false, so that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. ~2Thess 2:9-12

JESUS I TRUST IN YOU!

JESUS I TRUST IN YOU!

Our world is about to change and life will not be the same.  They who surround themselves in the Mercy of God will not be shaken.  Jesus says…

Act like a beggar who does not back away when he gets more alms [than he asked for], but offers thanks the more fervently.  You too, should not back away and say that you are not worthy of receiving greater graces when I give them to you.  I know you are unworthy, but rejoice all the more and take as many treasures from My Heart as you can carry, for then you will please Me more.

And I will tell you one more thing — take these graces not only for yourself, but also for others; that is, encourage the souls with whom you come in contact to TRUST IN MY INFINITE MERCY.  Oh, how I love those souls who have COMPLETE CONFIDENCE in MeI WILL DO EVERYTHING FOR THEM. ~Diary§294, emphasis added.

And again…

Mankind will not have peace until it TURNS with TRUST to MY MERCY. ~Diary§300, emphasis added.

Proclaim that mercy is the greatest attribute of God.  All the works of My hands are crowned with Mercy! ~Diary§301, emphasis added.

REPENT…PRAY (see below) and…CALL OUT for HIS MERCY!
