St. Mother Teresa, angel of the poor, pray for us!

Week 3 Reflections for the 33 Days of Morning Glory concluding on March 25th, the Feast of the Annunciation

***********

[Brothers and Sisters] …we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.  For our sake He made Him to be sin who did not know sin, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Working together, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain.  For He says: “In an acceptable time I heard you, and on the day of salvation I helped you.”

Behold, now is a very acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

Week 1: First 40 Days… Monday, March 6th Click on the date for today’s reflection.

Repent and be renewed!

MORNING PRAYER: SATURDAY AFTER ASH WEDNESDAY: READING: Isaiah 1: 16-18 (emphasis added)

Wash yourselves clean!  Put away your misdeeds from before My eyes; cease doing evil; learn to do good.  Make justice your aim; redress the wronged, hear the orphan’s plea, defend the widow.  Come now, let us set things right, says the Lord:

Though your sins be like scarlet, they may become white as snow; though they be crimson red, they may become white as wool.

The Word of the Lord! … Thanks be to God!

St. Paul sets us up really well for Lent when he wrote in his letter to the Romans:

[Brothers and Sisters,] you know the time in which we are living.  It is now the hour FOR YOU TO WAKE FROM SLEEP, for our Salvation IS CLOSER THAN WEN WE FIRST ACCEPTED THE FAITH.  The night is far spent; the day draws near.  Let us CAST OFF DEEDS OF DARKNESS and PUT ON THE ARMOR OF LIGHT.  Let us LIVE HONORABLY as in daylight; Not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual excess and lust, not in quarreling and jealousy.  Rather, PUT ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST and make no provision for the desires of the flesh. ~Romans 13: 11-14, Morning Prayer, Week I, Monday.

We will witness in the days ahead the Great Apostasy spoken of in CCC§675… Read here… Oddly enough, I wrote this way back in 2014, and today it’s all happening!

The Shortened Days – another important read to go with the above read…

And if you recall, Jesus gave us three EXCELLENT examples of how to respond to the temptation that comes from the devil… Read More…

CHECK-UP!

Check Up!  Week One… Wed, March 8th…

Well, it’s been a few days since Lent began…So how’s it going?

Declare your sins to one another,  and pray for one another [in other words, admit your fault and ask for forgiveness from the one you have wronged], that you may find healing.  The fervent petition of a holy man is powerful indeed. ~James 5:16, Evening Prayer, Friday after Ash Wednesday, Christian Prayer, 1976.

Another Good Read: The Coming Passion

For this is the time of Renewal through penance, fasting, and alms-giving.  We need to heed the words of the Prophet who spoke:

Wash yourselves clean!  Put away your misdeeds from before My eyes; cease doing evil; learn to do good.  Make justice your aim; redress the wronged, hear the orphan’s plea, defend the widow.  Come now, let us set things right, says the Lord. Though your sins be like scarlet, they may become white as snow; though they be crimson red, they may become white as wool. ~Isaiah 1:16-18, Morning Prayer, Saturday after Ash Wednesday, Christian Prayer, 1976.

and GIVE UP our sinful habits.
