The Coming Passion…

“God showed His LOVE for us in that why we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” ~Romans 5:8

As I had indicated two Posts back, a RE-VISIT is necessary for the days ahead concerning the Passion which the Church MUST PASS THROUGH, and thus follow her Head to become more in union with Christ…  This republish reads -as is – with a couple of new recommends for further reading from another blog site.  Please take a moment to read these as the unfold more completely that which is upon us and still yet to come…

Χριστός αυξάνεται! (Cristo Anasti)  As the Greek saying goes…  That is, CHRIST IS RISEN!  We respond, YES! HE IS RISEN INDEED!

Last night, as I pondered Christ’s crucifixion, I was reminded of something the Catechism of the Catholic Church says regarding Christ’s Passion and the coming Passion of His Church:

Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers.  The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the “mystery of iniquity” in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of His Messiah come in the flesh. CCC§675

And the more I pondered on it, the most amazing reflection came to me! It’s one that takes the above passage and follows Christ’s Passion as given to us in the Stations of the Cross.  It became even more amazing when tie-ins to passages in Revelation were revealed in connection with the reflection!  Needless to say, I was humbled and impressed,  but also encouraged as it proves that God has the final word, NOT Satan.

But I must stress: THIS IS A PRIVATE REFLECTION.  As the title of my blog states, My Spiritual Insights and musings. It is NOT to be taken as LITERAL FACT, nor as an AUTHORITATIVE TEACHING of the Church.  The most authority that lies within exists ONLY in the PASSAGE from the Catechism, the recounting of the Stations of the Cross, and the direct translation available to me in the RSV Catholic Edition of the Book of Revelation of St. John.

No one, not even the Church Fathers themselves, know exactly how things will happen or when they will happen.  All we do know is, Christ’s Church WILL FOLLOW HIM into His Passion and Death so that we may share in His Resurrection.

That having been said, what follows should be a means of encouragement.  Satan will NOT have the final word!  He will spit and breathe fire, but it will be as Shakespeare is quoted as saying: “It is merely sound and furry signifying nothing.”

Since this reflection is rather extensive, and I do not wish to over stimulate, I’ll have to take write it out in easy stages.

Thus I begin with an outline, one that will be expanded in coming posts.  When there appear words in Auburn, this refers to the passage in the Catechism.  When there appears words in Deep Blue and bulleted purple, this refers to the Stations of the Cross.

Are you the King of the Jews?

Are you the King of the Jews?

We Begin:

“Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. “

I.  Jesus is Condemned to Death by Pilate (after He is scourged)

  • Whom did Pilate represent?  Was he not the Roman procurator?
    • For Christians, Pilate is the ROMAN EMPIRE, for it was given him the authority to crucify or release Jesus.
  • Who is the Roman Empire today?  Who seeks that global conquest that the Roman Empire of Jesus’ time had?
  • Do we not have a cry for Economic Peace?  For a unity among nations?  Is not a New World Order on the horizon?
And they led Him out to be crucified...

And they led Him out to be crucified…

II.  Jesus Accepts His Cross – He begins the road to Calvary

  • The Church, like her Risen Lord, will accept her Cross

    • For this, she will be embraced by some and rejected by many
  • That is, always remaining in the TRUTH, no matter how the world tries to rewrite TRUTH
  • The Church will always maintain her moral compass

“The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the ‘mystery of iniquity’ in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems…”

III. Jesus Falls for the First Time

  • Who is a king?  One who rules a country or a nation, isn’t it?
  • Will the Church be asked to make a concession concerning the Vatican State, if indeed all these leaders come together, making it impossible for the Pope to maintain diplomatic immunity?
  • Would this not lead to a “drawing a line in the sand” between the Church and the secular world… the New Roman Empire?
  • What may be given to God’s people during this time so that we may choose wisely which side to follow?

IV.  Jesus Meets His Afflicted MotherThe Great Illumination!

  • In order that His Church may know their hearts, all peoples of the earth will see themselves as they are seen by their Creator
    • All will know without doubt what is RIGHT and what is WRONG
  • A permanent sign will appear in the sky (Mt 24:30)
  • Possibly the 5th Marian Dogma will be declared
    • The reunification of all Christians might result
  • The Dragon will become infuriated

V. Simon the Cyrenean Helps Jesus Carry His Cross

  • A great outpouring of the Holy Spirit results in a Great Evangelization of  all the nations (Rev 8: 3-4; Mt 24:14)
    • A possible time of Peace will be granted for this occasion
  • Peace meaning no wars or that which would prevent the preaching of the Gospel of Christ
  • Though many hearts will be reached as a result and converted not all will turn back to God
    • The “Beast” will become angry and seek to destroy these holy saints (Rev 12:17)

VI Veronica Wipes the Face of Jesus

  • The final moment of this “Era of Peace”
  • The last gesture of relief before Calvary
  • Soon the “Beast” will pursue the woman only to find her “offspring” in full worship of the Son

VII Jesus Falls a Second Time

  • Judas (Antichrist) appears and “betrays” the Mother Church
    • That unholy pact mentioned in Station Three is broken
  • The Holy Father – who IS the Vicar of Christ – falls, as in death
  • The Church is scattered into confusion (Mk 14:27)

VIII  Jesus Speaks to the Daughters of Jerusalem

  • Even though the Church is under persecution, Jesus DOES NOT abandon His bride
  • Instead, He allows her to be purified for the Heavenly Banquet that is to come at the Wedding Feast (1 Sam 2:9)

“The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh.”

IX  Jesus Falls a Third Time

  • The “true colors” of the Antichrist (Judas) is revealed
  • The Mass is abolished
  • The World religion is established
    • That is the blending of all creeds and faiths
  • The Final Stage is set for the Crucifixion!

“…offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth.”

X  Jesus is Stripped of His Clothing

  • The Church is now “stripped” of everything!
  • Her buildings and places of worship are destroyed
  • With the abolition of the Holy Mass, the faithful must “go underground”
    • She must practice the faith in secret with those who are left
  • Unfortunately, many of the faithful – clergy and lay alike – will succumb to the temptation and turn from the faith
    • Apostasy!  All are Marked either on their hands or foreheads…(Rev 13: 16-17).

XI  Jesus is Nailed to the Cross

  • As the remnant few have refused the “Mark of the Beast” are then sealed with the Seal of God (Rev 7:3)
    • Just as Jesus sealed our Redemption by being nailed to the Cross to demonstrate His Love for us, so too are we sealed for the Love of our Redeemer
  • This too brings on the final need to cleanse the whole earth!

XII  Jesus Dies on the Cross

  • A very bloody and self-destructive persecution rampages against the earth
    • I say “self-destructive” because it will bring the Day of Justice that much sooner
  • The Final Warning comes to earth…
"And Nicodemus...asked for the body of Christ." Passion of the Christ (google-pics)

XIII  Jesus Is Taken Down from the Cross

  • Appears two witnesses – Elijah and Enoch – coming down from Heaven
  • The Witness are here to warn the inhabitants of the earth of their pending destruction caused by their own actions
    • For it was because of the abolishing of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the only thing to hold back the Wrath of God, that God’s holy wrath was now upon them

XIV  Jesus Is Placed in the Tomb

  • Antichrist is permitted to wage war on Elijah and Enoch
    • Which leads to their deaths (Rev 11:7)
  • But like our Lord who was placed in the tomb on Good Friday, they will rise after THREE DAYS (Rev 11:11-12)
  • Then, they also will then ascend into heaven and all “hell will break loose” upon the unrepentant earth (Rev 11:14)

This concludes the outline.  In the next few postings, I’ll go through each one or more, as God directs, and fill in the “missing information”.

PLEASE NOTE : At the end of each, I’ll include extra readings and/or video postings that also touch on the same subject from one of my favorite modern day prophets.  Though we both touch on the same subject,  we both take a different perspective.

However, I am grateful for the quotes he has already found that will appear throughout the next few days of postings.  As always, links will be provided for those readings.  I do highly recommend them as a further means of reflection.  The Dragon is in our World today – although still “hidden”, his works are carried out by those who follow him.  We must pay attention to the “signs of the times” so we will not be caught unawares…

As our Lord reminds us,

“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.”  ~Mt 24: 32-35
