What can we learn from the Wisdom of God?

Posted by Anne Elizabeth on September 7, 2010

This Sunday’s readings were, again, very well chosen.  However, I will only concentrate this post on the reading from Wisdom, chapter 9, verses 13-18, AND from this month’s Monthly Message. The connection between the two is very striking, even more so than I first thought.  Read with Wisdom at your side, “Let those with ears hear and with eyes see.

Wisdom 9: 13-18; Monthly Message; Personal Commentary

13 For what man can learn the counsel of God?

God’s ways are not our ways.  What He does and how He acts is NOT how we would respond, because GOD IS LOVE.  But we are a combination of LOVE & HATE.  Not God.  He is PURE LOVE.  Thus God asks of us TO ACT IN PURE LOVE…

Dear apostles, we have nothing without unity. Our campaign of love will only be successful if we concentrate on love. Love overcomes everything, even the most profound suffering. Because, when one of God’s children has nothing and he is bereft, the smallest bit of love is like the greatest feast. I, your Jesus, am now a beggar. I am begging you to love.

Or who can discern what the Lord wills?

Our world is to full of noise to be able to hear the “still, small voice of God” (cf 1Kings 19:12b), Who is giving direction within our noisy hearts…

Allow Me to see to justice because only I am equipped to pass judgment. You must see to loving, despite any wounds you have suffered. I am the greatest victim of injustice so I am the best consoler.

14 For the reasoning of mortals is worthless, and our designs are likely to fail,…

We can do NOTHING without the good counsel of God remembering that all things are possible with God (cf. Luke 1:37).  That which He creates will ALWAYS be ordered to His Glory.

Dear friends, I am sending formation through each of you that is very specific for this time. It is for this reason that I implore you to remain fixed on Me and all that I am asking you to do. I want you to be holy. I can bring the greatest amount of mercy into the world if My beloved friends help Me.

Bring your suffering to Me and I will send you away with love, which you will then continue to distribute on My behalf. Be serious about My work, dear apostles. It is important.

15 for a perishable body weighs down the soul, and this earthy tent burdens the thoughtful [or anxious] mind.

We are much concerned with our material goods, especially in this day and age where unemployment is high and financial instability is a constant worry.  But we place far too great an emphasis and value on these possessions, so much so, that often they distract us from our spiritual view of Heaven.  One might even go as far to say, they have become more important than GOD HIMSELF (cf Exod 20:5).  This is NOT the focus we need right now.

16 We can hardly guess at what is on earth, and what is at hand we find with labor;…

Instead, our concentration should be on the Kingdom of Heaven (cf Mt 6:33), and the gathering of souls for that kingdom.  We cannot know the mind of God or the works of His hands.  Only God knows this and shares it with a select few.  For us, He gives us PEACE and LOVE when we are in service to Him by going through our daily lives concentrating on the Kingdom of Heaven…

Be at peace in your day, dear apostles. Perhaps you are learning to move more slowly, and perhaps this has helped you to be more connected to My presence in your service. How blessed you are if this lesson has taken root in your life. Strive to achieve this way of life because you will have the greatest gifts available to you if you move methodically, with Me.

…but who has traced out what is in the heavens? 17 Who has learned thy counsel, unless thou hast given wisdom and sent thy Holy Spirit from on high?

Are you a “select few”?…

Truly, your consistent service impacts the entire Church in some way, both in the day you are spending your time and in the future where you may not be spending time. Each of you serves as a result of the service of many people. You were formed and directed in your faith by the sacrifice of those who went before you in service. Be grateful for their sacrifice and then you, also, give willingly and generously for those around you and those who will come after you.

18 And thus the paths of those on earth were set right, and men were taught what pleases Thee, and were saved by wisdom.”

Sometimes, people are unaware of the nature of My grace flowing into the day through their cooperation. This is best, dear apostles. Be like little children who throw many leaves from a bridge into a stream and then walk away. The impact of their action flows down the stream without any help from the child and the impact from your daily service flows into the greater stream of the Church without any further action on your part.

Be disinterested when the enemy of unity brings you reasons to disagree with those around you. Be interested when your Jesus begs you to overlook the flaws of others and serve alongside them in harmony.

Though I do not always understand the calling, and though “hurt-pride” often gets in the way, I look to You, Oh Lord, to make my paths straight and my calling pure.  Fill me with YOUR LOVE and PEACE that can ONLY come from YOU (cf Eph 3:17-19).  In Your Son’s precious and holy name, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

  1. Anne, I love your heart, for you want to fill it with the love of G-D and you. My G-D is the breath with in me, my song within me is the beat of His heart.

G-D wants all of us to set Him as a seal upon our hearts. We are to keep His covenant of day and night, we are to also keep our appointed day to turn to G-D alone, and ask for His hand in ours, to keep us in the state of peace (Gen.28:20-21) this is the ordinances of heaven and earth. When we labor putting sin out of our lives. (Gen.27:27)

Revelation 2:17 We are the White Stone: verse 17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. We are the stones that the Spirit of G-D is making ready to be brought forth to build up the Temple of our G-D of heaven and earth. 1 Kings 6:7 the stone the builders rejected. Psalm 21,22,23.
Anne, It is good you set your heart to G-D’S alone. G-D With Us Your heart belongs to G-D.

Thank you for the encouraging comment and keeping its length appropriate. =-) We are the stones the builders have rejected because we do not belong to this Culture of Death that is quickly killing itself. The Kingdom of God is built up with LOVE as our Cornerstone is the Son of God, Jesus Christ. We must hold tight to His Sacred Heart as we wait from our desert sanctuary (Rev 12:14) for His call to evangelize the earth! See Mark’s reading, To the Bastion!
