Stations XI & XII : Death awaiting Triumph

Posted by Anne Elizabeth on May 9, 2010

“Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and the seed of beast.

And it shall come to pass that as I have watched over them to pluck up and break down, to overthrow, destroy, and bring evil, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, says the LORD.

In those days they shall no longer say: ‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.’ But every one shall die for his own sin; each man who eats sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge. ~Jer 31: 27-30

This is a continuation from a the previous posts.  Just a reminder: any words in italicized black will be the scripture reference.  Any comments of my own will appear in teal, and as usual, the Stations and bullets will remain blue and purple.

XII  Jesus Dies on the Cross

  • A very bloody and self-destructive persecution rampages against the earth

At first indeed he will put on a show of mildness (as though he were a learned and discreet person), and of soberness and benevolence: and by the lying signs and wonders of his magical deceit having beguiled the Jews, as though he were the expected Christ, he shall afterwards be characterized by all kinds of crimes of inhumanity and lawlessness, so as to outdo all unrighteous and ungodly men who have gone before him; displaying against all men, but especially against us Christians, a spirit murderous and most cruel, merciless and crafty. —St. Cyril of Jerusalem, Church Doctor (c. 315-386), Catechetical Lectures, Lecture XV, n.12

I say “self-destructive” because it will bring the Day of Justice that much sooner

It is God’s task to bring about this happy hour and to make it known to all… When it does arrive, it will turn out to be a solemn hour, one big with consequences not only for the restoration of the Kingdom of Christ, but for the pacification of… the world. —Pope Pius XI, Ubi Arcani dei Consilioi “On the Peace of Christ in his Kingdom”

With the rise of Antichrist, the Day of Justice has arrived, with the son of perdition becoming, in part, an instrument of God’s purification. Just as a day begins in darkness, so too does the “Day of the Lord,” which eventually turns into Light.  ~Mark Mallett, Seven Year Trial Part VI, 3-31-10.

‘And He rested on the seventh day.’ This means: when His Son will come and destroy the time of the lawless one and judge the godless, and change the sun and the moon and the stars—then He shall indeed rest on the Seventh day…Letter of Barnabas, written by a second century Apostolic Father

  • The Final Warning comes to earth…

XIII  Jesus Is Taken Down from the Cross

  • Appears two witnesses – Elijah and Enoch – coming down from Heaven

And I will grant my two witnesses power to prophesy for one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth…These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands which stand before the Lord of the earth.  And if any one would harm them, fire pours out from their mouth and consumes their foes; if any one would harm them, thus he is doomed to be killed. They have power to shut the sky, that no rain may fall during the days of their prophesying, and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to smite the earth with every plague, as often as they desire. ~Rev 11: 3-6

  • They are to warn the inhabitants of the earth of their pending destruction caused by man’s own actions

And one week shall confirm a covenant with many; and in the midst of the week it shall be that the sacrifice and oblation shall be removed—that the one week might be shown to be divided into two. The two witnesses, then, shall preach three years and a half; and Antichrist shall make war upon the saints during the rest of the week, and desolate the world… —Hippolytus, Church Father, The Extant Works and Fragments of Hippolytus, “The interpretation by Hippolytus, bishop of Rome, of the visions of Daniel and Nebuchadnezzar, taken in conjunction”, n.39

Tradition has often identified these Two Witnesses as Elijah and Enoch. According to the Scriptures, they never suffered death and were taken into paradise. Elijah was taken away in a fiery chariot while Enoch…was translated into paradise, that he may give repentance to the nations. (Ecclesiasticus 44:16) ~Mark Mallett, 7 Year Trial Part VII, 4-01-10

For it was because of the abolishing of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the only thing to hold back the Wrath of God, that God’s holy wrath will be upon the inhabitants of the earth.

God’s people, however, WILL TRIUMPH because Jesus has conquered sin and death.  He rose from the dead, so shall His Church, dressed in splendor and truth, rise from the ruins and be counted with her Bridegroom.

It will be clear to her that the world is about to turn against her en masse But Christ will not abandon His Bride!

We will be given the comfort of one another’s presence and prayers, the encouragement of seeing the sacrificial witness of others, the intercession of the Saints, the help of the Angels, the Blessed Mother, and the holy Rosary;

…also the inspiration of the Great Sign which remains and cannot be destroyed, the outpouring of the Spirit, and of course, the Holy Eucharist, wherever Masses can be said.

The apostles of these days will be powerful, or rather, wonderfully empowered. I believe we will be given an interior joy as were the martyrs from St. Stephen, to Ignatius of Antioch, to the modern day souls who are continually offering their lives for Christ.

These graces are all symbolized in the angel who came to Jesus in the Garden:  And to strengthen him an angel from heaven appeared to him. (Luke 22:43) ~Mark Mallett, 7 Year Trial Part V, 3-30-10

Up Next: Jesus is placed in the tomb yet rises on the THIRD DAY.
