Stations IV and V…Passion continues…

Posted by Anne Elizabeth on April 11, 2010

This is a continuation from a the previous 2 posts.  Just a reminder: any words in italicized black will be the scripture reference.  Any comments of my own will appear in teal, and as usual, the Stations and bullets will remain blue and purple.

IV.  Jesus Meets His Afflicted MotherThe Great Illumination!

  • In order that His Church may know their hearts, all peoples of the earth will see themselves as they are seen by their Creator

… and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary His mother, “…and a sword will pierce through your own soul also, that thoughts out of many hearts may be revealed.” ~Lk 2: 34a, 35

  • All will know without doubt what is RIGHT and what is WRONG

In other words, there will be no more excuses.  You either server Christ and His Church or you are opposed to Him and His Church.  Much like St. Paul, when he was still known as Saul, persecuted the Church…

Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. ~Acts 9:1-2

…until that fateful moment when Saul met his Creator, the One whom he was persecuting…

Now as he journeyed he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed about him.  And he fell to the ground and heard a Voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?”  And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And He said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting;” ~Acts 9: 3-5

  • A permanent sign will appear in the sky

… then will appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn,… ~Mt 24:30a

But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle that she might fly from the serpent into the wilderness, to the place where she is to be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time. ~Rev 12:14

The reunification of all Christians might result

  • The Dragon will most certainly become infuriated

“Rejoice then, O heaven and you that dwell therein! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!”

And when the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had borne the male child… Then the dragon was angry with the woman, and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and bear testimony to Jesus. ~Rev 12: 12-13, 17a

V. Simon the Cyrenean Helps Jesus Carry His Cross

  • A great outpouring of the Holy Spirit results in a Great Evangelization of all the nations

And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer; and he was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar before the throne;  and the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God. ~Rev 8:3-4

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, as a testimony to all nations; and then the end will come. ~Mt 24:14

The apostles of these days will be powerful, or rather, wonderfully empowered. I believe we will be given an interior joy as were the martyrs from St. Stephen, to Ignatius of Antioch, to the modern day souls who are continually offering their lives for Christ. ~Mark Mallett, 7 Year Trial Part V, 3-30-2010.

So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes by the preaching of Christ.  But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have; for “Their voice has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.” ~Romans 10: 7-8

  • A possible time of Peace from persecution will be granted for this occasion

Peace meaning no wars or that which would prevent the preaching of the Gospel of Christ

For even Antichrist, when he shall begin to come, shall not enter into the Church because he threatens. —St. Cyprian of Carthage, Church Father (died 258 A.D.), Against the Heretics, Epistle 54, n. 19

  • Though many hearts will be reached as a result and converted not all will turn back to God
  • The “Beast” will become angry and seek to destroy these holy saints

But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!” And when the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had borne the male child…

The serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, to sweep her away with the flood. But the earth came to the help of the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed the river which the dragon had poured from his mouth.  Then the dragon was angry with the woman, and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and bear testimony to Jesus. ~Rev 12: 12b-13, 15-17
