Do Not Be Afaid…

Posted by Anne Elizabeth on September 25, 2009

If you attended daily Mass today, you heard the following reading from the Prophet Haggai, a reading that was chosen to speak DIRECTLY to us, as well…

Haggai 2:1-9

In the second year of Darius the king, in the seventh month, on the twenty-first day of the month, the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet,

2 “Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of She-alti-el, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to all the remnant of the people, and say,

3 ‘Who is left among you that saw this house in its former glory? How do you see it now? Is it not in your sight as nothing?

In North America, we have been measured and weighed, and indeed, have been found wanting. And not just here. Pope Benedict has been warning Europe that to abandon Christ is to abandon their foundations. Australia is also among the westernized nations which have tragically strayed from their roots. And terrible injustices continue to reign in developing countries, including poverty, child prostitution, and genocide. ~Mark Mallet, The Writing on the Wall, May 20, 2009.

4 Yet now take courage, O Zerubbabel, says the LORD; take courage, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; take courage, all you people of the land, says the LORD; work, for I am with you, says the LORD of hosts, 5 according to the promise that I made you when you came out of Egypt.

You are chosen by God, not to save yourself, but to be the instrument of salvation for others. Your model is Mary who surrendered herself completely to God thereby becoming a co-operator in redemption—the Co-redemptrix of many. She is a symbol of the Church. What applies to her applies to you. You too are to become a co-redeemer with Christ through your prayers, witness, and suffering. ~Mark Mallet, Smoldering Candle, Feb 26, 2009.

My Spirit abides among you; fear not. 6 For thus says the LORD of hosts: Once again, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land;

26 His voice then shook the earth; but now he has promised, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heaven.” 27 This phrase, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of what is shaken, as of what has been made, in order that what cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe; 29 for our God is a consuming fire. Heb 12:26-29

7 and I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with splendor, says the LORD of hosts.

“I am preparing you for a new time which will bring you joy because you will serve peacefully [and] in complete trust.”  Monthly Message, “Anne” Lay apostle, Sept 2009

8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, says the LORD of hosts. 9 The latter splendor of this house shall be greater than the former, says the LORD of hosts; and in this place I will give prosperity, says the LORD of hosts.’”

Truly, you are united to heaven. I seek only to instill in you a greater awareness of your unity.~Ibid
